Charity

In keeping with our mission, the Colorado Corvette Club’s Charity Committee, provides several non-profit organizations with charitable donations every year.

Each non-profit is local and benefits greatly from our “micro” donations (usually around $500). With these smaller donations we are able to be more impactful in various areas of our local community, including child-focused and veteran-focused programs.

Annual Car Show 2023:

The Annual Corvette Show was held on Saturday, August 19, 2023. This year the show was held at the Sun Outdoors Rocky Mountain in Granby, CO and was well attended with 40 cars at the show. The weather was beautiful and we had so many spectators and visitors that enjoyed seeing the cars and resort amenities as well as winning raffle prizes. We were able to raise and donate $1,961 in memory of our club member Paul Figueroa, for Mountain Family Center and Grand Beginnings, both located in the Granby area. We will post updates for the 2024 car show in the coming months.

International Rescue Committee:

At our September meeting, we had a speaker from the International Rescue Committee discuss their efforts with a family in need that they are currently sponsoring. The club voted to donate $1,500 to this family for assistance with their vehicle and basic family and household needs. Many of our club members also donated individually at the meeting. The club and its members continue to live by the club mission of giving back to the community.

Annual Car Show 2022:

The Annual Corvette Show was held on Saturday, August 20, 2022. This year the show was held at the River Run RV Resort in Granby, CO and was well attended with 35 cars at the show. The weather was beautiful and we had so many spectators and visitors that enjoyed seeing the cars and resort amenities as well as winning raffle prizes. We were able to raise and donate $2,370 for Mountain Family Center and Grand Beginnings, both located in the Granby area. We will post updates for the 2023 car show in the coming months.

Annual Car Show 2021:

The Annual Grand Lake Corvette Show was held on Saturday, August 28, 2021. This year the show was a huge success as we were located next to the lake and it was well attended with 82 cars registered and 75 cars at the show. The weather was beautiful and we had so many spectators and visitors that enjoyed seeing the cars, listening to the band and winning raffle prizes. We were able to raise and donate $3,448 for Mountain Family Center and Grand Beginnings, both located in the Grand Lake area. We will post updates to next the show for 2022 in the coming months.

Grand Lake Car Show Donation 2020:

The Annual Grand Lake Corvette Show was cancelled this year due to COVID-19. While the club was disappointed that the event couldn’t take place as planned, the bigger concern was that cancelling the event would negatively impact the charities that the show normally benefits.

To help ensure that some donations were provided this year, the club requested that anyone who had pre-registered for the show donate their registration fee of $20 to these charities via Colorado Corvette Club. Happily, nearly all of the registration fees were donated!

Paul E., Deb Lindquist (Mountain Family Center) and Jeff G.

A really big THANK YOU to the Central Colorado Corvette Club, Top of the Rockies Corvette Association, Looking Glass Corvette Association and the individual Corvette owners who donated.

Colorado Corvette Club members also donated their registration fees, as well as additional funds. And the club received another donation from our sponsor, Stevinson Chevrolet, as well.

Paul and Jeff, club members, drove up to deliver our food donations to Mountain Family Center, and checks were sent to Mountain Family Center and Grand Beginnings.

Special COVID-19 Donation:

A club member, Jay H., has been working hard to find financial assistance for many of his tenants who are having difficulty during the COVID-19 shut down. Unfortunately, some families have special circumstances which limit the availability of various forms of government assistance and other financial programs.

The Colorado Corvette Club wholeheartedly agreed to donate $500 to one of Jay’s tenants – a family of four with young children. This “will make a huge positive impact for their family.”

Non-profit organizations we support:

Our first charitable donation of 2020 was to Freedom Service Dogs of America. An organization which specifically trains service dogs for individuals and their specific needs. They work most often with Veteran’s and Autistic children, but provide services for many other disabilities as well.

We were honored to have Kathy Aalund, from Freedom Service Dogs, and Tom with his service dog Norwin (graduates of the program), visit us. They demonstrated the special, individualized training that Freedom Service Dogs provides, and shared very personal stories of how service dogs improve lives.

Because this organization does such amazing work (and the extreme cost of training one dog) we doubled our usual donation.
